Spray Play A to Z – Tuesday, Feb. 23, 11:30 am 1:00 pm EST

Spray parks are a fast growing amenity to park and recreation departments. This session will present ideas on the process of installing a spray park and the intricate details of design, budgeting, water source, codes, construction and maintenance.

Presenters will describe the process of designing for sustaining the environment and explain the maintenance requirements of a splash pad.

Maintaining Safe Play Environments – Tuesday, March 2, at 11:30 – 1:00 pm EST

Nearly 200,000 injuries that require emergency room treatment occur annually on public playgrounds. These injuries can be prevented with proper playground design and standardized inspection and maintenance programs. This continuing education session will highlight the primary causes of playground injuries and discuss the responsibilities owners, as well as manufacturers, have for providing and maintaining safe playgrounds.
All Ages, All Abilities, All the Time – Thursday, March 4, 11:30am -1:00 pm EST

Parks today face the challenge of providing environments where all visitors can feel safe, secure and fully engaged. Universal design increases usability, safety, health and social participation. Playground Planners will be provided practical examples of how to create park and recreation spaces that encourage health and wellness for individuals of all ages and abilities.
